Media literacy trainings attended by over 100 preschool teachers from Kraljevo and Čačak
The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media held media literacy trainings in preschool institutions in Kraljevo and Čačak, attended by a total of over 100 teachers and expert associates.
In the course of two days, 25 and 27 September 2024, the Regulator held three media literacy trainings for preschoolers, specifically for teachers and expert associates at the Olga Jovičić Rita Preschool Institution from Kraljevo and at two Preschool Institutions – Moje Detinjstvo, and Radost – from Čačak.
During the training for teachers and expert associates, the findings of the survey on media literacy among preschool-age children in Serbia were presented, and they were familiarised with the Regulator’s activities in the field of media literacy, with special attention paid to programming content rating and useful tools for educating preschoolers about media literacy, which were developed with the support of the Council of Europe, within the project Protecting Freedom of Expression and of the Media in Serbia (PROFREX), which is part of the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye 2023-2026, a joint European Union and Council of Europe programme.
After last year’s trainings that were held, also within the Council of Europe’s project Protecting Freedom of Expression and of the Media in Serbia (PROFREX), for representatives of teachers and expert associates in Belgrade, the Regulator has held trainings in Novi Sad and Niš since the beginning of this year, which were attended by 60 teachers of preschool age children and expert associates.
